When Life Gives You Lemons Part 4

It has been an amazingly abundant time with lemons! I am totally surprised at how many different dishes I have made, as well as bases and comestibles.

Total tally so far is:

  • fresh lemon juice, super handy to keep in the fridge

  • lemon gummies

  • lemon honey

  • lemon, honey, ginger cordial

  • lemon, honey and sage throat wash / tonic for sore throats

  • lemon pepper mayonnaise

  • lemon salsa verde

  • upside down lemon cake

  • lemon juice ice blocks

That is quite a collection, and it is a good list of so many things that I don’t have to buy from the supermarket. 

I decided to preserve the remains of the lemons, using a recipe from Bounty, by Catherine Bell. I adapted the recipe to include my own choice of healing spices, such as cardamom and cinnamon. I am looking forward to trying out the preserved lemons! They will also make fantastic, unique and personal Christmas gifts.
