I have been delving into the medicinal benefits of juicing in the past couple of weeks. My current favourite recipe is Cucumber, Pear and Ginger Juice. It is super-refreshing, great for detox and skin health, helping you glow from the inside out.
Cucumbers are known to be good for digestive support, heart health, weight management, and prevention of constipation. They are full of nutrients, antioxidants and fibre, and the high water content helps to keep you hydrated - particularly important in the heat!
Ginger of course is known to be a digestive support, and helps circulation, reduces nausea, reduces inflammation, and reduces pain.
Pears are full of potassium, fibre, antioxidants, and minerals
You can adjust the quantities to suit your own taste. You can add this to smoothies, drink it as a shot, or even add sparkling water / soda water to make it into a festive mocktail!
Take 1/2 telegraph cucumber, 1 packham pear, and a good inch of root ginger. Put these all into a juicer, and give them a good old juice. If you like, you can add half a lemon, or some mint, or even an apple.
Place in a jug in the fridge, and allow to chill. Serve as above.
