My Personal Turnaround Story
From This….to This…
As mentioned previously, I have a pretty amazing Turnaround Story, involving Culinary Medicine.
I was forced out of the workforce for almost a decade, following a sudden, life threatening episode of Chron’s disease / Ulcerative Colitis.
As I progressed through the Western medical system and hospital system, I could see, from a nursing perspective, how much it was based on highly processed, non-nutritive foods, and medication-dense treatments only.
To my mind, as an already holistic practitioner, this was reductive, as it only addressed the symptom, and not the cure. In addition, the treatments prescribed, had drastic side effects, and also contributed to nutrition-depletion in my system.
I realised that it was up to me, to create and pioneer my own healing pathway. I drew heavily on my recent experiences of working in commercial kitchens, and my nursing and my knowledge of allergy-friendly foods, to create a range of totally delicious foods, drinks, bases and comestibles.
This range of products has helped me to complete this transformation!
The first picture is from August 2017, after my first surgery to fit a colostomy bag. I was not expected to survive this surgery by the specialist team.
The second picture is me, in 2023, enjoying life in my garden. I now have had my colostomy bag removed, I am not taking any pharmaceutical medications at all, I am in remission, and my health is good.
I am now happy to share my story, and my services as a Culinary Wellness Consultant, helping others to achieve the same, natural, healing transformations in their own life.
